Equity Scholarships

Here at Copper Cabbage, we’re passionate about equal opportunity to education. We’ve committed to holding space for those who require support in order to get started or continue on with their musical journey.

Each year, we award up to one scholarship to a student who applies. A student may receive up to one scholarship from the studio. Please email if you are interested in applying for any of our available scholarships.

Trans-Masculine Equity Scholarship

This scholarship is closed for applications in 2024.

If you identify as a trans-masculine person or transman in any stage of your transition, you are eligible to apply to receive this scholarship. This award can go to a prospective or current student.

The scholarship recipient will receive $300 applied to one term (4 months) of voice lessons.

    Experienced Instructor

The instructor is from the LGBTQ+ Community and has experience working with Trans* voices.

We’ve done our research into this demographic we wish to reach and support and we’ll try our best to be transparent in our efforts to do that. Education included attending Trans* voices masterclasses and workshops, reading the Journal of Voice Science articles that pertain to Trans* voices. Experience included working with two members of the community and gathering feedback.

The 2024 Copper Cabbage Studios Songwriting Scholarship Award

The student may be guided in the process of creating a melody, fashioning lyrics, developing a harmonic underscoring, or recording ideas and demos. There are no guaranteed outcomes for the progress and process.
