Welcome to the Copper Cabbage family!
I base my teaching style and level on the age of the student, their current musical abilities, and also the goals that they have in mind for lessons and for their musical journey.
My goal for lessons is for the student to explore various musical styles while fine-tuning their ear to bring to life their passion for expression through their instrument!
What's one of the Copper Cabbage differences? I allow more spacing (time buffer) between lessons, so the time that you get in lessons is all about you and you’re not waiting for the lesson before you to end!
Learning Paths
Students of any age may choose from one of these learning paths for lessons:
Worship Intensive
for voice and piano
Work through Christian worship music and band skills to prepare for a church audition or for current worship ministry serving!
Genre-by-Month
for voice
You'll follow the path that I've designed, taking you through repertoire, exercises, and theory to glean and gain skills from the best of the best!
Royal Conservatory of Music
for voice
With your RCM repertoire and theory materials at your level, you'll learn music the classical way!
Focused Genre
for voice and piano
You get to choose! Select one genre per term (September - December, January - June, and July - August), working through as much repertoire as desired, meeting skill needs as they arise.
About the Instructor
Paige (they/them) has Royal Conservatory training and has studied music in postsecondary institutions earning a Bachelor of Arts with a Music minor and a Music Diploma at Grant MacEwan. Paige is an award-winning vocalist who specializes in musical theatre, classical, and worship styles.
Paige has professional band leading experience and also helped to develop the Youth Worship ministry at Ellerslie Road Baptist Church. Paige regularly serves in Sunday morning worship at the Christian Reformed Church of St. Albert. Paige is a lifelong-learner and looks forward to sharing the joy of music with you.

What happens in a music lesson?
Every lesson begins with a quick check in to see how you’ve been doing with the material over the previous week. For voice lessons, we’ll warm-up to get the voice and body activated as one. For piano lessons, we’ll do a couple of quick stretches to prepare to drill some technical skills. If the student has musical selections chosen to work on, I will go through these before providing repertoire (songs) as suggestions for learning. I integrate ear training, sight singing/reading, and theory components into lessons as well.
Which ages do you teach?
I teach students from school grade 4 and up. All the way up!
Do I need any music experience?
I love working with beginners and professionals and everyone in between!
Which curriculum is taught?
I've found that by choosing a Learning Path, students remain motivated attaining their goals and clearly envisioning new ones on the horizon. Students of any age may choose from one of these Learning Paths for lessons:
- Worship Intensive for voice and piano,
- RCM Learning Path for voice and piano,
- Paige’s Genre-by-Month Learning Path for voice, or the
- Focused Genre Learning Path

How long and frequent are lessons?
Usually, voice lessons are scheduled to run once a week for 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or an hour and piano lessons are scheduled to run once a week for 30 minutes.
When do you offer lessons? Can I take lessons in the summer?
I offer lessons year round. Any time is a good time to start!
How will you assess my RCM level?
If you're just starting off, your level will be assessed in the first month of lessons, after which, the RCM materials will need to be purchased. Alternatively, if you've taken RCM music lessons before, we'll pick up where you left off based on your last examination.

Logistics FAQ
How can I pay for lesssons?
Lessons are paid for with credits that can be bought on the studio portal shop after you log in. Each credit is worth 15 minutes of lesson time. So, a 30-minute lesson is 2 credits, a 45-minute lesson is 3 credits, and a 60-minute lesson is 4 credits.
The studio portal shop accepts credit and debit cards.
Credits are not refundable, but are transferrable. Talk with your instructor if you need help with credits.
How does scheduling work?
A particular date and time slot will be given to you based on your and my availability. If you need this slot changed at any point, please give me at least one months notice to set another regular time for lessons.
When you start up with lessons initially, you can purchase a bulk amount of credits to redeem for lessons that fill your given lesson slot day and time. While your lesson slot is always saved for you, you have the option to book a lesson within that slot or not. You pay per credit, as opposed to a tuition for the whole term. This means you get absolute flexibility with your scheduling and only spend the credits that you book!
Do lessons continue on holidays?
We'll take breaks intermittently if your lesson slot day falls on a holiday. These will not be bookable in the online studio portal.
Holidays that I observe are: Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Family Day, Easter Weekend, May Long (Victoria Day), Canada Day, August Long (Heritage Day), Labour Day, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Thanksgiving Monday, and Remembrance Day.
Where are lessons held?
The studio where lessons are held is also a recording studio on the south side of Edmonton. This provides students with a valuable and unique opportunity to learn about the studio environment and processes. However, please respect the equipment and space and only use the equipment with permission.
What's your cancellation policy?
You may modify a lesson on the studio portal online to either cancel it or reschedule it up to 24 hours before your lesson. This gives you peace of mind and a whole lot of freedom. Lessons can only be modified on the online studio portal.
Please let me know a month in advance if you wish to cancel lessons entirely.
